The results were positive, with a total of 11,151 professional visitors over the three days of the event.
400 companies from 22 countries presented their products in 12,000 m2 of exhibition space.
The 2010 edition of Alimentaria México was a resounding success. For three consecutive days, it became a true business hub to meet the needs of the food and drinks industry.
A total of 11,151 people attended. They not only visited the stands of close to 400 companies with 5,000 products from 22 countries, but also took part in the various activities which as a whole helped create an entirely professional business environment. On this occasion, trade missions from Guatemala, Colombia, Spain and Poland also visited the exhibition area to get a feel for the market and make direct contact with producers.
It is worth noting that the results of visitor surveys, the significant turnover they manage and the variety of products they were interested in were key aspects of the successful planning and design of this international Mexican event, which benefits both exhibitors and visitors.
'We have always taken into account as a major factor that the companies and brands taking part should get the visibility they require. For this reason, we do our best to focus all our efforts on allowing them to make contact with potential customers, reach agreements and increase sales, among other things, in a single space over a few days,' said José Navarro Meneses, Manager of E.J. Krause de México, the company which, together with Alimentaria Exhibitions, has for several years presented this exhibition focused on attracting professionals from food and drinks manufacturing, restaurants, supermarkets, equipment, food service, hotels and catering, distribution and retail outlets, among others.
A key exhibition area was Restaurama, which included manufacturers and marketers of equipment and accessories for food and drink preparation, storage and presentation for the restaurant sector.
This year, countries such as Belgium, Russia, Brazil, China, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Korea, the United States, South Africa, Malaysia, Canada, Vietnam, Turkey and India were in attendance, displaying their offerings for visitors. Through the different State Pavilions, Mexico had the opportunity to present the food and agribusiness products of its regions. Additionally, Michoacán, Guest State at this edition, displayed its producers’ offerings.
The Innoval 2010 Pavilion confirmed its reputation as a forum for new items, with the most important food and drink brands and products launched over the past 12 months being presented at the event. The best products were recognized by a jury made up of representatives from the Mexican Restaurant Association, Walmart, Canainca (Spanish acronym for the National Food Conserves Industry Association), Grupo Litoral, Soriana, Palacio de Hierro, Grupo Medios IQ, Proyecto GENyo, AMEE, Grupo Corvi, Centro de Orientación Alimentaria and Alfa Editores Técnicos. The winners of the 2010 Innoval Awards were:
